Joe Biden’s Home Town

Campaign managers always like to make a Great Big Deal about candidates’ roots, stressing the positive attributes of wherever that is, whether it’s a Big City or a Small Town or a Log Cabin or an Alaskan igloo. Let’s see what’s happening in Scranton, PA, where Joe Biden was born and wisely got the hell out of….

Scranton, PA – A man accused of fatally bludgeoning three people in a home over the summer has been held for trial in the slayings.

A magisterial district judge ruled there was enough evidence against Randal Rushing, 25, to hold him for trial on more than a dozen counts, including murder and kidnapping charges. Rushing has been held without bail since his arrest in Wilkes-Barre shortly after the killings.

Police responding to a 911 call found [three] victims in a south Scranton home around 7 a.m. July 17. Four others, including Rushing’s former girlfriend and a young boy, were found in the house unharmed; authorities said at least some of the survivors had been bound…..Police initially said the victims had been shot. But after an autopsy, authorities said Rushing used a knife and a hammer.

After his arrest, Rushing, of Scranton, blew a kiss at reporters and said, “I had fun.”

Defense attorney Paul Ackourey said his client may have mental-health problems.

Ya think, Counselor? Maybe the first clue is, he still lives in Scranton. But at least he had fun. Good, clean small-town fun.

  2. Charles Manson says:

Well, who WOULDN’T have fun using a knife and a hammer on bound kidnap victims? Nothing’s wrong with this guy. I’d worry if he said he DIDN’T have fun.

There’s worse places in Pennsylvania than Scranton, and you don’t even have to go that far. Easton. Wilkes-Barre. Carbondale. And the zillions of jerkwater horseball towns in between that consider those dumps “big city.”

Scranton’s actually a lot better today than it was when Biden grew up there (and left).
