Phightin Phillies Phantastic Phinish

Congratulations, Phillies!  National League East Division Winners for the fourth consecutive year.

The party is still raging in the City of Bodily Harm, where they understand the only use of  a “world cup” is for drinking out of, or protecting one’s package from injury.

Bring on the post-season!  Let’s wrap this up before the first snowfall!

Getting lazy, there, Squathole – the Phillies clinched in DC – they should be in their road grays.

Roger that, ya’gotta’guessit — that photo is last year’s. Still. Congratulations! Bring on the Series!

    Congrats! I rather like those Phillies . . .

    Squathole,
congratulations for a great repeat performance of the Phillies. Who knows, maybe now on to the World Series again?

They did a great job in September, making last night look inevitable. Everything seems to be working right for them right now, while Atlanta is squirming for its life, and the three western division teams beat the crap out of one another.

Speaking of Atlanta: did you see that Bobby Cox hit the panic button and will go to a 2-man rotation for the final week? Remind you of anybody named Gene Mauch? Here’s my prediction: same outcome. He and the Braves will spend the post-season licking their wounds and watching the Phillies on television.

I DID see that, Lu, and had exactly the same shivering reaction. I’ve never been a Cox fan; on the contrary, I think he’s one of the dumbest strategists around, constantly getting out-maneuvered by opposing field bosses. Anyway, the Braves are scrambling for their lives, the NL West is beating up on itself, and the Phillies coast. I like it a lot!

    Woo Hoo Go Philies !!!
