Dems the Gummint

They really, truly don’t think like the rest of us.

Despite the fact that many diplomatic cables and other classified documents have already been public and easily accessible for a week thanks to WikiLeaks, the government is ordering federal employees not to read them. “Classified information, whether or not already posted on public websites or disclosed to the media, remains classified, and must be treated as such by federal employees and contractors,” reads the notice distributed Friday, according to the New York Times.

Employees are not prohibited from reading news articles about the cables, but employees who already “accidentally” downloaded any of the documents themselves are asked to notify their “information security offices.” WikiLeaks has been mocking the move on Twitter, with posts such as, “Digital McCarthyism: US Military Tries to Intimidate Soldiers Into Not Reading Wikileaks. — Newser

From the same folks who in the name of security instruct inspectors to remove your nose-hair tweezers from your carry-on baggage, we have this decree governing federal employees’ bed time reading materials.  So you downloaded that cable including the crack about “cutting off the head of the snake”?  Please inform your supervisor.

Speaking of heads, mine hurts.

If one believes the polls, government has never been held in as low esteem as it is now.  Americans find them stupid, incompetent, corrupt, bloated, and ineffectual.  Citizens are derisive, hostile, and contemptuous.  But as evidenced here, they soldier on, marching in ordered lockstep with scant regard for their own image, reputation, or tattered integrity.

I am reminded of British soldiers during the American revolution, marching into battle in bright red uniforms with white stripes across the chest to serve as bulls eyes for guerilla warriors to aim at.

Don’t blame me.  I voted for Nader Obama.  Oh, shit.  How’s that Dope and Strange thing working out?

It’s nice to see you’re coming to your senses, along with the rest of the country, about how weak a president Obama is, and how having somebody as unprepared for the job as he was ends up negatively impacting everything, large and small.

This is as nice a way as I can say, I Told You So.

‘Nonymous: This has approximately nothing to do with Obama specifically. It’s amazing how wingnuts want to make everything negative a reflection on the president. Why not blame him for bad weather, too, or your bad haircut?

Moves like this one inspire the usual round of, “And these are the same people you want to take over health care?” kind of questions.
