Tomb Womb

By the time you read this, the sign will be gone.  But, if you value tasteless jokes, insults, and politically incorrect snark, bear with me.

[A]n anti-abortion group has put up a big billboard in New York’s SoHo neighborhood featuring a picture of a scared-looking black girl and the caption “The most dangerous place for an African American is in the womb.” Shockingly, some people aren’t thrilled.

The billboard is funded by the group Life Always and works off a statistic from the NYC Health Department that shows that blacks had the highest number of abortions in 2009. They made the choice to put it in SoHo because, as Life Always’ Pastor Stephen Broden explained that, if they had “put it in Harlem, [they] would have been ignored.”  –mediaite

What, no interview with unborn Black fetii to gauge their reaction? This could be broadcast internationally, using Skype Scope. UltraSound at 11 after these messages.

Planned Parenthood, which lately has enough on its plate, after one of its employees gets caught on video dispensing non-authorized counsel, condemned the billboard as “an offensive and condescending effort to stigmatize and shame African-American women.”  Pretty standard fare – the race card and the female card, both in spades – but what about the core issue: given the American population, why do Black pregnancies end in abortion out of proportion, and why does that rhyme?

You’d think that the same social conservative forces behind this billboard would be pleased at this development.  Their contempt for the non-white American demographic is demonstrated daily, yet here they are, raising hell about Black people eating their own seed corn, as it were.  Howcum? as Jimmy Hatlo once asked.

Fact is, these same virulent anti-abortion harpies – the ones who want pre-teen girls impregnated after rape by their own family members to carry to term and beg Jesus bless their unwanted, deformed, brain-damaged babies – lose their ass-over-tea kettle love for the unborn as soon as the “un” gets past-tensed.  From that point on, these needy blobs of protoplasmic matter become freeloading, unproductive, non-tax-paying sponges off the god-fearing, hard working capitalist majority what made this nation great.  Why don’t they go back to where they came from?

Wait, you say.  This is totally A.F.U.  Nobody’s that  blind.  Not even Creationists or Wisconsin Republicans.  How can anybody with two live brain cells to rub together love the  Unborn and despise the Born?  These clowns ought to be Planned Parenthood’s biggest advocates, not enemies.  At least be honest about your racism, like the Klan.

Well, to paraphrase Michael Sewage, Social Conservatism is a mental illness.  Sadly, there is no cure.  Billboards like the one seen here are nothing less than colorful depictions of their symptoms.  Think of them as art.

Which brings us to the NEA.  And the weekend.  Have a good one.

  1. Neil, a Christian Soul says:

Abortion is murder, and Planned Parenthood is inspired by Satan. The Christian activists behind the billboard want nothing else but to save the lives of the innocent unborn. Your characterization of them is offensive on many levels. Prepare for hell.

  2. Barbara Ganousch says:

What’s racsit here is the way the activists are positioning themselves as allies of the Black community, suggesting that Planned Parenthood and the pro-choice movement are practicing back-door genocide.
