Vaclev Havel died and that’s all I have to say at the moment, because while it was inevitable as life itself, it’s a giant loss to the living.
His achievements were never fully appreciated outside the relatively small circle of politically astute citizens of the world, none of whom seem to live in the Unites States. He was a man of peace and wisdom — how quaint — not only an artist and a politician, but a leader and visionary. Not a bad combination.
I will drink nothing but Czech beer this week. Best I can do. Damn it. Shitting fuck.
